TAI BO

Today I went out with mum and my Uncle, to have dinner with my mum’s younger sister, Doris which I call Dor Dor Yee Yee.  We waited, but she didn’t come until nearly 7.  After we ate dinner we went to buy dessert.  After that we went to her house.   Dor Dor Yee Yee has a cat called Tai Bo, I was so happy to see him, because he was still a kitten when I last saw him.  He was really shy at first but he got used to us and it was really fun.  I played with Tai Bo for a while but my Uncle was tired so we had to go home even though I wanted to keep playing with him. Sushi Night!

On Saturday, amp, my mum and I went out to meet Shan Shan, my mum’s business partner, Queeny’s best friend. We went to the market at Yau Ma Tei to look for live fish for soup.  It is known to be good for patients, especially after operations.  After that we had a walk in the Mall nearby to see the Hello Kitty displays.

We went on the longest escalators indoors and the mall has 6 floors.  Queeny’s mum, Elsa and my cousin’s family joined us in the evening.  We all travelled by bus to Yuen Long to have SUSHI, that’s one of my favourite foods.  At the Sushi shop I ate 2 salmon sushi and 2 fish roes sushi, the salmon was double the length in Adelaide.  I also tried the grilled salmon belly and other Japanese dishes.  IT WAS SO SO YUMMY !  I gained 2 more inches in my waist.  TO BE CONTINUED…………….

Mong Kok

Today we went to Mong Kok and there were a lot of fish shops.  My Uncle, Tak’s fish died so we bought some to replace them.  We bought small fish. My favourite is the one that’s like a snake it was very long and it was red.  We saw a lot of turtles and they were so cute.  We came across a pet shop so we went in.  We saw little grey hamsters and they were all in their little houses.  We went upstairs and there were rabbits and also a kind of squirrel called the dragon cat.  It wasn’t scary it was just like a squirrel but fatter.  I liked them all but we couldn’t bring live stuff back to Adelaide, so we kept looking for the fish.  After looking we bought a fish with a rainbow tail.  We were tired so we sat down at a restaurant and ate. I ate fish porrage  and shared with my mum.  After eating we saw a black and silverish fish that was our last fish that we bought.  Then we went to look for other things to buy.  We met up with my Auntie , Janis and then my Uncle went home because he has a serious sickness.  We walked for hours I was so exhausted that when we got to the bus I fell asleep next to my mum.  When we got home I put my stuff away and sat on the couch and my mum saw that one of the fishes were all ready dead it was one of the small rainbow fish it was sad.  I sat down and looked at the other fish.  TO BE CONTINUED…………

Hong Kong

To the airport :  We went to the airport at around 9:30 am it was sad and exciting at the same time.  We had breakfast at Hungry Jacks in the airport.  After we ate Hungry Jacks, it was time to go so dad said good bye and we went inside to the customs. The people there checked our passport and checked our luggages to check if anyone brought any things illegal.  Then we went to the waiting area and waited, I was a child so we could go through first. Our first stop was to Melbourne and it was cool being over the clouds it was like being in Antartica because the clouds were like the ice. When we arrived at Melbourne we sat down and waited while I played my DS.  Then it was time to go to HK I was excited.  When we arrived on the plane I played my DS while we were waiting for the speaker to say switch off all electronic thing’s.  It finally said it then we started to move they were now showing the safety rule’s then they started to take off.  We arrived in Hong Kong at 9:45 pm and we had to check out at the customs with passport.  After we claimed our luggages it was around 10:30 pm and my uncle was waiting to pick us up.  I was so exhausted after the long flight and I skipped the shower and crashed on to the air bed.   TO BE CONTINUED……..

My ‘must see’ place in South Australia is Kangaroo Island

My must see place is Kangaroo Island, because you can see the seals. You can also visit the lavender farm which has all the things that are made out of lavender even lavender ice-cream!  Kangaroo Island is an Island off the coast of South Australia. It is near Fleurieu Peninsula. Kangaroo Island is 7 times bigger then Singapore. I enjoyed going to the parrot rock it was very fun going in the rocks and the rock slides.

Writing Task

We had to use this picture below as inspiration for our writing. We could choose any genre of writing to respond to the photograph below. Below are some examples of our responses.

Sand Storm

When I was walking with my friend in a sandy plain, a huge gush of wind blew the sand around and made a huge sand storm that blew our car and other peoples cars, busses, trees and even their houses! Sand went into our eyes. We felt afraid! It was like a group of giants running crazy!

I couldn’t run because the storm was too fast. My friend and I got sucked into the  storm! It went faster than light and time got slower and slower and slower.

I was spinning around in slow motion, so I had enough time to dodge the houses. Suddenly the sand storm slowed down and time got faster and we ended up in a beautiful town! We decided to live there and we had a great time. The town was called Minties (or Mintys) town. We bought new clothes and a storm never came.

The Storm

One day I went to my friend’s house and it was a sunny day.We went on our bikes to the park. We played there for hours,so then we went back to my friend’s house and put our bikes away. After we had had our lunch we went outside and started talking and my friend’s Mum was at work. Then a sand storm came. We started to sprint to the house and we closed all of the windows and doors. When it reached our house it was as big as two T-Rexes. It sounded like a dinosaur in rage.

In secnods we were in the air from the sand storm and then we herd a trex stomping across the ground. I went to the window and fell out of it into the sand storm and something caught me. It was a T- Rex, so I said to my friend,  ‘jump out of the window!’ and he did.

A T-Rex did not catch him a teradactyl caught him flying in the air. It was an amazing  thing to do and when the sand storm had,  the dinosaurs had gone. I woke up in my bed and it was dream.

Safe!

Once upon a time I lived in a dry town with my best friend Mari.  We had to go to a far lake to get water.  It was very dry and it barely rained, so normally there would be dust storms .  Normally we hide in our houses and then in our big cupboard and stay until the dust storm would pass.

One day my friend and I were going to get water and ingredients for our fruit breakfast .  Then we saw a dramatic dust storm rushing to us .  We ran as fast as we could .  It sounded like a big bird flapping its wings .  We rushed into our house .  We locked all our doors, but we forgot one window .  When the storm stopped our house was full of the glittery sand .

We smelled a rare smell, it was rain .  We were so happy the mushrooms grew , so quickly we filled all our buckets . We knew this was not the last dust storm that was going to strike our little town .  We told our neighbours and other people from our town to build a wall to protect us all . When a dust storm strikes next time we were going to be SAFE !

Moon Lantern Festival

On Wednesday I went to the Moon Lantern Festival in Adelaide. I went with Lachlan Lai his Grandma , Grandpa and my Mum. We saw a lot of different lanterns. When it was getting dark, Lachlan wanted a lantern so he bought  a green one. He wanted a white one, but in China white is unlucky. At night we put on the lantern lights and ran around with Lachlans lantern, because my lantern didnt have batteries.  At night it was getting cold, so Lachlan wanted to go home, so did I. Our car was a long way away, so I had to wait for Lachlan’s Mum who worked at ANZ, but she was launching a lantern for ANZ.  I walked with them for like 10 minutes and then we reached their car and they drove us to our car. Then I got hungry, so I asked my Mum if we could go to the restaurant and we did .  My Dad cooked some soup for me and my Mum gave me some batteries for my lantern, so I could play with my lantern. Then we all went in to the bar and ate some moon cake and then we all went home.

Tennis Lessons

Yesterday we had tennis lessons with Shane. We had a lot of fun in the tennis lessons. We had two activities one was to bounce the ball on the net that Shane set up, the second activity was to have two people and one had a net and the other had a racquet. When we had four shots we swapped. When we were really good at it we used two racquets.
